UNCOMPROMISED COMMITMENT TO SAFETY

It starts with a Safe Work Environment

Our mission is to promote an accident-free work environment by developing positive safety attitudes throughout the workplace. A full-time Risk & Safety Manager administers training and inspection programs that cover all aspects of job performance in the field, at the maintenance facility, and in transport operations. At JPH, providing a safe work environment and promoting safety consciousness is of utmost importance. We train our employees to always consider safety first. This training is the vehicle that drives our everyday job performance, with safety as our number one priority.

“All of JPH’s field personnel are Local Law 196 compliant.”

Safety Compliance

JPH subscribes to the ISNetworld service for Safety Qualifications Review and Verification Services. We have submitted written safety programs for review and have received 100% verification of compliance to OSHA and industry standards. We share our client’s high level of commitment to Safety. Education and Training, a Comprehensive Safety Manua,l governs the performance of our crews. Equipment operators and laborers receive safety training specific to their work environment.

Additional training is specified for each job description, which may include compliance with Mine Safety and Health Administration, Federal Railroad Administration, and Occupational Safety and Health Administration rules, among others. Superintendents and Field Supervisors are subject to additional training requirements, including confined space, lifting and rigging, forklift and powered platform, PPE assessment, and hazard communication. Supervisors conduct daily job briefings that outline the activities for the day, all anticipated hazards, and methods used to safely work.

Safety Pre-planning

At JPH, safety plans and practices are put into place well before the project begins. Prior to beginning work, our Safety Director and Project Manager prepare a site-specific health and safety plan for each project to account for the conditions and hazards present at each site. Once the project begins, the Safety Director makes frequent job site visits to monitor work in progress and consult with supervisors to further assess hazards and performance.

Drug-Free Workplace

Our goal is to ensure that every employee is provided a safe work environment. In order to deliver outstanding service to our customers, we must prevent injuries, property loss, and damage. With pre-employment drug testing and random testing of employees throughout the year, JPH’s zero tolerance policy offers the highest level of protection available against potential workplace safety liabilities.

QUALITY

Our clients expect it and our reputation depends on it. To ensure that we provide our clients with a quality project, we prepare and implement a Quality Management Plan designed specifically for the individual project. This Plan, developed in collaboration with the Owner and design team, consists of several components including; communication, coordination, design verification, revision control, baseline schedule, schedule management, environmental compliance, field inspections, quality control testing, verification sampling, reporting, nonconformance tracking and resolution, and independent assurance.

JPH employs a full-time, on-site Quality Control Manager whose responsibilities include ensuring compliance with the Quality Management Plan, evaluation of means and methods, documentation, and reporting to the project manager. Additionally, to ensure an unbiased review of all construction activities, JPH routinely contracts with an independent quality assurance consultant whose responsibilities range from monitoring operations to special inspections to maintenance of all inspection, sampling and testing records. JPH’s goal is 100-percent compliance with the contract documents

Environmental Compliance

JPH has worked as a subcontractor on dozens of environmentally sensitive projects over the years including those along and within lakes, rivers and streams, wetlands, estuaries and the ocean. We take environmental compliance very seriously. As a result, we have never received a compliance violation citation. Our work methods and practices are designed for zero-impact on surrounding eco-systems. Since environmental stewardship cannot be compromised, we work in close cooperation with jurisdictional agencies to deliver full compliance on every project.
